Bioness is the leading provider of innovative technologies helping people regain mobility and independence. The company is spinoff of Ben-Gurion University (BGUni). Bioness solutions include functional electrical stimulation (FES) systems, robotic systems and software-based therapy programs providing functional and therapeutic benefits for individuals affected by central nervous system disorders and orthopedic injuries. Bioness Inc. was founded to help individuals with neurological impairments regain their independence. With the support of entrepreneur and philanthropist Alfred E. Mann, Bioness was formed to develop and distribute neuromodulation devices into the field of rehabilitation.
Bioness launched two devices the H200 Hand Rehabilitation System and the L300 Foot Drop System. The H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation System is an ergonomically designed, easy-to-operate system that helps achieve personal recovery goals. Reaching, grasping, opening and closing the hand are all possible with the H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation System. With the wireless operation, it's easy to integrate into your daily life. The system’s advanced technology delivers low-level electrical stimulation to activate the nerves that control the muscles in the hand and forearm, helping you regain freedom and independence. The H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation System is a medical device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and CE-marked for the European Union. L300 Foot Drop System is designed to help people with certain neurological conditions walk more naturally, with increased speed and improved balance. The L300’s advanced technology delivers programmed, low-level electrical stimulation to activate nerves and muscles that lift the foot, giving you the mobility to step back into life. The L300 Foot Drop System is a medical device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), CE-marked for the European Union, and used in rehabilitation centers worldwide.
Bioness also released the L300 Plus for Thigh Weakness. The L300 Plus System builds on the success of the L300 Foot Drop System by adding a thigh cuff to give patients greater control over bending and straightening the knee, which may help them walk more naturally. The L300 Plus System is a medical device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, Bioness released the Vector Gait and Safety System, a dynamic, zero footprint, overground rehab system designed to off-load a precise amount of body weight during physical and occupational therapy. Recently, Bioness released the Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS) to evaluate and improve ability and performance in those with disabilities and competitive athletes.
Bioness was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal in Medical Design and Excellence Award (MDEA) competition.
