Exclusive interview for SPINOFF.COM with Dr. Alvaro Goyanes, FabRx Ltd., Founding Partner and Development Director, about 3D printing, which is an exciting new technology, with almost limitless potential to pharmaceutical and medical science
FabRx is the creation of academics from University College London, who saw the potential of 3D printing technology for making better medicines. Rapid development in the field of 3D printing will lead to the fact that patients will be able to have access to personalized medicines prepared depending on their specific needs. The technology of three-dimensional printing of medical products will allow manufacturing of prescribed medicines at the dispensing point, hospitals or pharmacies, or in the far future even at home. The technology will help reduce the prices of rare medicines, increase their availability, and reduce the number of counterfeits.
