New compound that reprograms protein normally found in sperm kills cancer cells' energy-generating system
Israeli researchers found a synthetic compound to disable the enzymes that allow cancer (lat. Carcinoma) cells to metastasize. The novel cancer therapy uses E260 anti-cancer agent that imposes metabolic stress and cell death in cancer cells. Such enzyme is found only in metastatic cancer cells and normal sperm cells. This new approach forms the basis for promising cancer treatment.
